With the introduction of the 992 generation, Porsche had already said goodbye to the naturally aspirated engine. From now on, all 911s are turbocharged, which makes this entry-level legend interesting even for those who aim for the big horsepower numbers. Each car model brings its own challenges and requirements. While the principle is the same as always, the layout of the intercooler system on this platform is something completely new compared to previous versions, which also affects the air intake. Unlike previous versions, the 992 no longer has a common, unified air filter for both turbochargers. The air intake is still located in the tailgate, now together with the air duct for the intercooler, but the air filters themselves and their housings are located inside each rear fender and are thus better protected from the ambient heat of the engine compartment. Viewed from the side, this solution is more sophisticated, but there is still room for improvement - we present to you the do88 intake kit!

Considerations:
The efficiency of a turbocharged engine is directly influenced by intake air temperature (IAT) and back pressure in the system. One crucial aspect, but one that is often overlooked, is sufficient airflow in front of the compressor to avoid pressure surges. Less vacuum and colder air allows the turbo to create more mass, which ultimately means more air to the intake tract - in sum, this means a noticeable gain in performance. With a good intake system, big performance gains can be made! Over the course of our many years in this business, with countless hours of evaluation and development, we have seen the connection between IAT, sufficient airflow to the compressor and the impact on performance. With this knowledge in our pocket, it was clear from the start that we wanted to create a closed system that was not affected by ambient temperature to the same extent as an open air filter. We also saw the potential for improvement beyond what a model-matched panel filter offers.
The finished product:
We started development with a 3D scan of the entire intended area on the car. This allowed us to work with the products in a meaningful way in our CAD environment using SolidWorks. The entire air filter system is optimized for airflow and radii and angles are revised several times to achieve the best result! The finished product is verified using both Computer Flow Dynamics (CFD) and our Superflow SF1020 Flowbench. Every effort is made to provide real and trustworthy data for you as a customer.
The do88 air intake kit is made from the finest quality vacuum infused pre-impregnated carbon fiber. It comes with CNC machined connectors to the turbo air hoses. To increase airflow, the kit utilizes all the space within the vehicle structure. The carbon housings are designed to accommodate a large inverted cone filter from the renowned manufacturer BMC, who provide their finest filter media. The intake tract is held by a water jet cut stainless steel bracket. The do88 intake kit replaces the entire OE air filter box and is a real performance upgrade!
This kit also includes custom-made silicone hoses which perfectly match the vehicle's air ducts and are shared with the intercoolers. This ensures a completely closed connection from which no air can escape. The hoses are available in a discreet matt black finish.
This kit contains everything you need to mount it on a Carrera, Carrera S or GTS . It is available in three different versions:
- do88 intake kit only with 66mm connections to the OE intake hoses.
- do88 intake kit with 66mm connections and do88 66mm intake hoses.
- do88 intake system with 80mm connections and 80mm intake hoses.
All three options offer better airflow, see chart for data. The model with 80mm ports steals more space on the inner fender, near the rear tires. Please take this into account when making further modifications to your vehicle.
We are very proud of the performance improvement this kit brings - especially on tuned vehicles that require more oxygen, but even an otherwise stock vehicle will see improvements due to the improved airflow!
