The B58 Gen 2 engine is fantastic, but it has a known reliability issue: its charge air pipe. This pipe is known to be fragile and can break during track use, even on production cars. If you plan on tuning your engine, you should definitely upgrade the charge air pipe beforehand.

There are many aftermarket charge air pipe kits for the B58 engine, but in our opinion most are not designed properly. Many competitors use a simple design: two pipes connected by a straight reducing silicone hose. It is obvious that they have not understood the importance of managing thermal movement in this system. Such a design will almost certainly lead to problems with the hose flaking as it does not allow movement due to temperature changes. A common solution is to tighten the clamps more, but in most cases this will result in the pipes breaking as the clamping surface is deformed.

Our charge air pipe, which connects to the throttle body via a CNC machined flange, has two 1/8 NPT ports suitable for methanol injection or outputs such as a boost sensor. Additionally, we offer two 1/8 NPT male ports for those who do not wish to use these ports.
