In addition to the racing look, this component has very important functions

  1. The reduction of the temperature in the engine compartment.
  2. The reduction of lift on the front axle.

2.: The air flows through the radiator and collects in the engine compartment. This creates excess pressure, which among other things exerts a force on the hood and relieves the load on the front axle and creates lift. Furthermore, the air usually escapes through the partially open underbody of the vehicle. The higher the volume of air under the vehicle, the more buoyancy is increased.

The air escapes through the vents via the hood, thus reducing the excess pressure in the engine compartment. Here is a small excerpt from our simulation model:

Our vehicles were equipped with temperature sensors in several places in the engine compartment:

Afterwards, measurement runs were carried out and the results are reflected in the following diagram:

The orange curve describes the system with venting and the blue curve without venting. Now the results seem confusing at first because the temperature seems to be higher without venting. But that is exactly the result we wanted to see:

The sensors were placed in the upper area of ​​the engine compartment and you can see that the hot air now does not take the path over the underbody, but past the sensors at the top to the ventilation so that it flows over the vehicle. Bull's eye!!


Important : The material can lose its UV resistance in extreme and frequent heat cycles. In such cases, we recommend simply painting the component black to ensure permanent UV resistance.

We have included a cutting template for the component in the product documents. Please print this out in original size and test whether the ventilation fits into your bonnet.

We have made sure that our ventilation combines maximum functionality and legality. The cover is designed in such a way that it hardly lets any water into the engine compartment, but still has a function thanks to the ventilation slots at the appropriate angle and it is impossible to reach in. In addition, all curves and radii have been taken into account so that the component can be registered by means of an individual inspection. But do you want maximum ventilation on the race track? Then you can remove the cover using the 4 screws and drive with a pure racing part.
